God help the Children
God help the children, for they'll never know,
how far it is they must really go
God help the man try and understand
a destiny running wild and free
Some doctor will tell me, I can not feel the pain
For it is said now that I am almost sane
But in a mind gone mad
outside a window I never had
It starts to rain.
There walks an old man
stiffly limping on his cane
I've seen him so many times before
And if only I could find a door
I'd leave this muddled mind, so tortured and sore
So look at reality
see what every one sees.
And don't look at me
there is nothing here to see
I've been everything, I could ever be.
So
God help the children, for they'll never know,
how far it is they must really go
God help the man try and understand
a destiny running wild and free
